Fête de la Musique im Starken August

Lade Veranstaltungen

MARY LEE FAMILY BAND
THE SALOONERS
TRIXIE TRAINWRECK

___________________

Bandinfos:
The amazing MARY LEE FAMILY BAND is a Brazilian/Irish, Bluegrass/Country band based in Berlin. ‘Family Band’ is not just a name – they are wife, husband, son, Irish sister (not by blood but definitely by heart) and an adopted pirate together on stage. A Mary Lee Family Band gig is always a sublime live experience; authentic music served raw with washboard and double bass drenched in a spicy sauce of violin and acoustic guitar, topped off with the headstrong and free-spirited Mary Lee herself and her razor-sharp voice.

THE SALOONERS
Four misfits, one washboard, and too many feelings — The Salooners play dark country ballads about heartbreak, hangovers, and the occasional unexpected boner.

TRIXIE TRAINWRECK and her No Man Band
(Psychedelic Lo-fi Blues)
Trinity Sarratt aka Trixie Trainwreck was born in San Francisco and raised on California sunshine. That didn’t stop her from moving to the darkest corners of Berlin as soon as she was legal and train-hopping around the EU playing in every bar, club, nook and cranny she passed by on her way. After playing and touring with a handful of Berlin bands like the infamous Sin City Circus Ladies, Runaway Brides, Cry Babies and Kamikaze Queens, she sort of very spontaneously became a One Woman Band, playing her own style of gritty home-made country and garage-punk folk-blues songs on her acoustic guitar, bass drum, hi-hat and kazoo for a one off show for some friends. This ended up with her releasing a debut single Hard Working Girl/ I’m Sailing On for local independent label Squoodge Records in 2012. That same year brought Trixie to her knees with her bad habits which in turn meant going on the wagon and becoming a mom all in one go. This was of course a lot to handle but it didn’t stop her from recording her first solo LP Bound to Ramble (2015) followed by extensive touring through the US and Europe, leaving her thirsty for something more. Spring of 2015 brought her to the UK where she went on to record a 4 track demo which became her second full length album under the name Trixie and the Trainwrecks – 3 Cheers to Nothing (Voodoo Rhythm Records 2018) followed by a couple of stompin’ singles, some cool videos, countless miles, festival appearances, and lots of adventures on the way. Meanwhile, Trixie has taken a step back from the dim lights, thick smoke, and loud loud music and gone solo for the time being, and just playing a few select shows when she feels like it. So catch her if you can!
